About us
Welcome to Blue Coppice!
Bethany Hughes, the designer behind Blue Coppice, has stitched, drawn and made ‘things’ since she was a very small child. No egg box, piece of string or pot of glue was safe...and still isn’t. Her quirky, whimsical counted cross-stitch and embroidery designs are inspired by the beautiful English countryside, stately homes and historic textiles, and a lifetime spent in art galleries and museums.
Each Blue Coppice design pack includes charts, a list of recommended materials, comprehensive step-by-step stitching and assembly instructions, stitch diagrams and full colour pictures of the finished items.
We'd love to see how you've chosen to interpret Bethany's designs - finished pieces will be featured (with full credit to the stitcher) on our blog and/or social media pages. Contact us on hello@bluecoppice.com with your questions, comments and finished pieces.
Bethany likes nothing better than talking all things stitching and enjoys speaking to groups about the stories and research behind her work as well as teaching to her own designs. If you'd like Bethany to speak or run a workshop at your local group (either via Zoom or face to face), please contact her on hello@bluecoppice.com
Whether you're just starting to stitch or experienced in the ways of floss and linen, there's always something new to discover - visit our Store page to start your journey...
Coppice Collection
Several years ago, Bethany started three-dimensional needle-felting with her mother for fun and therapy - there's nothing like a little light stabbing to cope with the world! These creations have now expanded beyond her available space and so Bethany has added these to the website under the name 'Coppice Collection' - if you'd like to see them in life, keep an eye on Bethany's Coppice Collection instagram account for details of her next craft fair appearance.
Bethany loves running needle-felting as well as stitching workshops - please do contact us on hello@bluecoppice.com with any questions or requests to run a workshop at your local group.
